Understanding Insurance + Functional Medicine
Based on what you indicated in your form, we may be able to use your insurance as part of payment. However, insurance coverage is nuanced. Sometimes only certain PPO tiers are accepted, and plan networks change. We ask that all prospective patients verify coverage (if they are in network with our office for physician office visits) with their insurance companies for the latest information.

Continued Care
After your initial appointment(s), Dr. Lai will recommend continued care options based on your health goals, concerns, and her clinical assessment. You can use insurance to reduce out-of-pocket costs with options to see both the MD and FNP.
Flexibility: You can always upgrade your care level later as your needs or budget allow. Starting with FNP or EFM doesn’t lock you out of comprehensive functional medicine services.

CIA (Comprehensive Initial Assessment)
Based on your interest form indicating you want comprehensive functional medicine evaluation, advanced specialty labs, or root cause analysis, the CIA is your best match.

If you’re not ready to start with the comprehensive assessment, you can begin with EFM (Explore Functional Medicine), which has a more focused scope and excludes the specialty tests and full root cause analysis.
